Noble Falls - Footbridge Replacement
Enviro were awarded this tender to remove an existing timber footbridge and replace it with a new concrete footbridge with steel stringers and tubular handrails.:
Project Description
Works included:
- Removal of existing timber bridge and steel handrails
- Conduct penetrometer tests to exposed abutments
- Design & Installation of new proprietary screw piles due to poor soil condition
- Forming & pouring of new reinforced concrete footings and pedestals at each abutment
- Placement of new UB stringers
- Forming & pouring of new reinforced concrete deck above water
- Design, fabrication & installation of galvanized handrails to suit
Upon removing the existing bridge we found that the ground beneath the abutments was not suitable to receive the new footings as detailed on the supplied drawings, so we engaged a structural engineer to design custom screw piles before placing the footings.
